Texas summers like to linger for as long as possible, most stores keep swimsuits in stock year round and no one ever truly packs away their shorts. This makes it easy to forget that winter does come in Texas and it does get cold. For some of us that means a fun opportunity to break out scarves and sweaters. For others it means a battle against weather and the struggle to keep warm. You can make a difference this winter by taking part in the Compassion United Coatrack.
It is the goal of Compassion United to provide cold weather gear for every homeless man, woman and child in Montgomery County. To do this, we are partnering with area churches and businesses to collect new or gently used coats and cold weather gear (blankets, sleeping bags, hats, gloves, etc.). These supplies will be distributed to the homeless at our weekly outreach events where we will also supply them with a meal and a dose of God’s love. If your church or business would like to be a part of this year’s Compassion Coatrack, contact Terri Watt at email@example.com.
