In 2017, Compassion United’s founders, Luke and Karla Redus, and their leadership team, met to brainstorm ideas of a master-planned community that would holistically support people transitioning out of homelessness, poverty and addiction. They knew that they were going to have to dream bigger than ever before to accomplish something of this magnitude.
Months later, Luke heard God speak the words “Miracle City” to him, and the dream grew stronger than ever! Coincidentally, the nickname Miracle City once personified the City of Conroe during the Great Depression, and now, we want to revive the presence of Miracle City within our streets today! Our nation and county face an epidemic of homelessness and poverty that no one person or government can fix. It is only solved by communities uniting together to lift one another up.
